Democratic Party Confirms Kim Jongsik as No.1 Candidate in Mokpo Mayoral Primary

According to the Democratic Party of Korea Jeonnam Provincial Party on the 8th, the Mokpo mayoral primary, which was designated as a strategic electoral district due to allegations of leaked party membership applications and conducted through 100% voting by a secure number electorate, resulted in Kim Jongsik receiving 54.17% of the votes, defeating Kang Seonghwi, who received 45.83%, thereby confirming Kim as the Democratic Party's candidate for Mokpo mayor.

With this, all candidates for the heads of the 22 basic local governments in Jeonnam from the Democratic Party have been decided, and in Mokpo, Kim Jongsik will compete against Yeo Indu of the Justice Party and independent candidate Park Hongryul.
