Recruitment of Participating Institutions for 'Songpa Saem Level-Up Learning Center' Project, On-Site Applications Accepted Until May 11
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Songpa-gu is recruiting participating institutions for the Songpa Innovation Education District’s ‘Songpa SSEM Level Up Learning Center’ project, which provides diverse after-school education programs that are ‘Level Up’ for local youth, until May 11.
The Songpa SSEM Level Up Learning Center, launched last year, provided differentiated learning opportunities to a total of 2,220 students from 8 schools over the course of one year.
The seven selected educational institutions operated various programs including ▲ youth asset planning ▲ decorating heart frames to cultivate democratic citizenship awareness ▲ creating upcycled works using waste resources ▲ learning about citizens’ rights and duties through role-playing ▲ making coffee grounds deodorizer ▲ fair trade and human rights, receiving positive responses from students and parents.
This year, five institutions will be recruited, and those selected as operating institutions will receive a subsidy of up to 5 million KRW. Without restrictions on educational content, the selected institutions will independently establish plans and conduct education.
The education venue can be the institution’s own educational space or, through consultation, unused school spaces can be utilized for the program.
Educational corporations, institutions, and organizations located in Songpa-gu wishing to participate can refer to the announcement posted in the notice section on the district’s website, complete the application form and related documents, and submit them in person to the Education Cooperation Division of Songpa-gu Office.
A district official said, “Songpa SSEM, which supports youth in achieving their dreams and hopes through education, has become even stronger with the ‘Songpa SSEM Level Up Learning Center’ project,” adding, “We hope many local institutions will apply, develop high-quality educational content, and contribute to revitalizing the district’s educational community.”
