"Dear Seniors, Be Happy~~~"... Seocho-gu Supports Daily Life Recovery at Senior Welfare Facilities

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Seocho-gu announced that it has prepared various support programs for daily life recovery at senior cultural and leisure welfare facilities around the upcoming Parents' Day.

First, at Naegok Neutinamu Rest Area, a senior cultural and leisure complex facility, they will create an ▲untact filial piety travel photo zone ▲love message card event where participants write what they want to say to their parents by going back in time and what they want to say to their children now ▲senior writing contest ▲and a visible radio program introducing unforgettable Parents' Day stories submitted by seniors.

At Bangbae Neutinamu Rest Area, an event will be held on the 6th to celebrate the 1st anniversary of its opening, where visitors to the rest area will receive plant cultivation kits and congratulatory messages.

At Bangbae Senior Welfare Center, they will also express interest and gratitude to vulnerable seniors living alone. On the 6th, social workers and life support workers will visit the homes of elderly living alone to deliver ‘Hyo (孝) Love Packages’ containing quarantine masks, castella cake, candy, pudding, soy milk, etc. (photo), and will support activities such as decorating carnation flowerpots and making frames together with the seniors.

136 senior centers in the area have also completed quarantine preparations and opened their doors. The district plans to support the rapid recovery of daily life, which was disrupted by COVID-19, through senior center revitalization projects such as visiting smartphone usage education programs.

Additionally, a special video commemorating Parents' Day will be produced to express gratitude. The video recalls precious moments shared before social distancing due to COVID-19 and contains heartfelt stories about the gifts parents most want to receive on Parents' Day. The video can be viewed on the Seocho-gu Office website starting from the 6th.

Cheon Jeong-wook, Acting Mayor of Seocho-gu, said, “I hope seniors who have had a difficult time due to COVID-19 can quickly regain their daily lives,” and added, “We will continue to promote various projects for daily life recovery so that seniors can smile brightly.”
