Strong Winds in Eastern Regions Until the 5th
Light Rain Around 5mm Nationwide from Night of the 6th to Morning of the 7th
Possible Rain in Southern Regions on the Afternoon of the 7th
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] On Children's Day, the 5th, the weather will be mostly clear nationwide. From the night of Friday the 6th until the morning of the 7th, light rain is expected across the country.
On the 3rd, the Korea Meteorological Administration held a weather forecast briefing and announced that the 5th will be clear and mild, but on the 6th and 7th, a low-pressure system will pass over South Korea, bringing rain clouds nationwide.
Forecast analyst Woo Jin-gyu said, "The 4th and 5th will be clear with a high pressure in the south and low pressure in the north, and as the pressure systems come closer, very strong winds will blow in the eastern regions," adding, "Rain will begin in the metropolitan area and northern Gangwon Yeongseo from the night of the 6th and continue until the morning of the 7th."
On the 5th, very strong winds with instantaneous speeds exceeding 20 meters per second are expected in Gangwon Yeongdong, the northeastern mountainous areas of Gyeongbuk, and the northern East Coast of Gyeongbuk. The atmosphere will be very dry, especially in the eastern regions, so caution is needed to prevent large forest fires caused by strong winds.
From the night of the 6th until the morning of the 7th, about 5mm of rain will fall nationwide. Rain will start in the northern Gangwon Yeongseo region including the metropolitan area, and as the rain clouds move quickly southeastward, the duration of precipitation will be short. It is expected to clear up from the afternoon of the 7th, but some southern regions may still be affected by rain clouds on that day.
On Sunday the 8th, mostly cloudy weather is expected nationwide. A mobile high-pressure system will influence South Korea, and as a low-pressure system passes southeast, the atmosphere will become unstable in some southern regions, possibly causing light rain.
Forecast analyst Woo explained, "Until the rain stops on the 7th, temperatures will be similar to or higher than the average, and after the rain ends, temperatures will be similar to or slightly lower than the average," adding, "There will be little impact on outdoor events or outings, but there is a possibility of yellow dust appearing on the 7th."
