Korea Electrical Safety Corporation Successfully Concludes the 1st Electrical Safety Policy Competition

[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Korea Electrical Safety Corporation recently announced on the 3rd that it held the final judging and awards ceremony for the '1st Electrical Safety Policy Competition' at its headquarters in Jeonbuk Innovation City.

Hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Corporation, this competition was designed to have the public, as policy consumers, directly propose innovative ideas to build consensus on electrical safety and spread a culture of safety.

During the policy contest held throughout February, divided into general and university categories, a total of 176 proposals were received. After evaluating policy effectiveness and feasibility, 12 finalists were selected.

In the final judging, six award-winning works were chosen through a public vote using the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission's 'Gukmin Saenggakham' platform and final presentation evaluations.

In the general category, the team of 'Park Seonyoon and Han Jaehee' won the grand prize with their proposal on 'Laws Regarding Standards and Safety for Electric Vehicle Charging,' while in the university category, the team from Pusan National University, 'Baek Jungeun, Jang Taeyoon, and Jin Nahyun,' received the grand prize for their proposal on 'Introducing Electrical Hazard Safety Ratings for ESS Solar Power Facilities.'

Awarding of the grand prizes in each category will take place at the 'Electrical Safety Awards' ceremony scheduled for September.

Jeon Jongsung, Vice President and chair of the judging panel, stated, “We will actively review the excellent proposals discovered in this competition and reflect them in institutional improvements,” adding, “We will continue to expand policy communication channels to discover innovative ideas from the public.”
