The exhibition showcases the latest composite material technologies used in industrial products such as automobiles and aircraft. Hanwha Solutions' Advanced Materials Division will present hydrogen tanks for vehicles and drones, as well as lightweight composite material parts.
The Hanwha Cimarron Neptune tank introduced this time is a 2000ℓ ultra-large capacity Type 4 composite material tank. It can store hydrogen at the highest pressure (517 bar) in the world among tanks of the same capacity, offering excellent economic efficiency.
In addition, various automotive material parts such as Superlight, a polypropylene-based lightweight composite material, and Stronglight will be exhibited.
Since acquiring the US hydrogen tank company Cimarron at the end of 2020, Hanwha Solutions has been focusing on the North American and European markets. Last year, it also signed a supply contract worth $260 million (approximately 305 billion KRW) with Texas energy company Sunbridge for compressed natural gas (CNG) tube trailers.
Furthermore, Hanwha Solutions is constructing a factory in Alabama, USA, with an investment of about $51 million (approximately 60 billion KRW).
Ryu Doo-hyung, CEO of Hanwha Solutions, stated, "We are actively targeting the global hydrogen tank market in North America and Europe with Type 4 products such as Neptune," adding, "Based on our top-level hydrogen tank research and development capabilities, we will also enter the fuel tank market for space rockets."
