Hanwha Construction Promotes Development of 'H-BIMS'... Expected to Optimize Construction and Reduce Costs

Hanwha Construction Promotes Development of 'H-BIMS'... Expected to Optimize Construction and Reduce Costs Yoon Yong-sang, Head of Architecture Business Division at Hanwha Construction (left), and Kim Eun-seok, CEO of Changsoft I&I, are posing for a commemorative photo after signing the 'H-BIMS Development Joint Promotion Agreement.'

Hanwha Construction announced on the 3rd that it signed a joint promotion agreement (MOU) with Changsoft I&I, a construction BIM specialized company, on the 2nd to develop 'H-BIMS (Hanwha BIM Solution)'.

BIM (Building Information Modeling) refers to a technology that integrates, produces, manages, and utilizes information throughout the entire construction process by combining 3D models and construction information.

H-BIMS is a solution based on BIM that automatically calculates the quantity of materials and construction period required at construction sites. When design drawings are input, it links with a performance database to calculate the quantity of materials and construction period from the early project stage to the construction phase, as well as enabling feasibility reviews. Through this, Hanwha Construction expects to derive optimized quantities, construction methods, and schedules, contributing to cost reduction at each site.

It is also significant that a major construction company is collaborating with a venture company leading the domestic construction IT industry. Changsoft I&I is a venture company that developed and successfully commercialized the first domestic 3D BIM core technology in the architectural BIM solution market, which had relied on overseas technology. Hanwha Construction is also promoting the expansion of BIM application on sites and internalization of technology through related education to respond to the construction industry paradigm shifting towards 'smart and new technologies,' and is actively investing in smart construction and new technology development.

Yoon Yong-sang, Head of the Architecture Business Division at Hanwha Construction, said, "To survive in the rapidly changing construction industry, digital transformation and the development of new technologies are not optional but essential conditions," adding, "The development of H-BIMS will be an opportunity to reduce costs, improve work efficiency, and further strengthen competitiveness in securing orders."
