[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Changwon City, Gyeongnam emphasized indoor mask-wearing following the lifting of the outdoor mask mandate effective from the 2nd of this month.
The city clarified that while the outdoor mask mandate has been lifted except for attendees of gatherings with 50 or more people and spectators at performances and sports events, the indoor mask mandate remains in effect.
Visitors using restaurants, cafes, karaoke rooms, bathhouses, and beauty salons are urged to wear masks indoors at all times except when consuming food or beverages or staying inside the bath.
It was emphasized that violating the indoor mask mandate and refusing to comply with mask-wearing guidance will result in a fine of up to 100,000 KRW.
The city has provided 36,400 rapid antigen test kits to entertainment facilities, karaoke rooms, and bathhouse businesses that had been subject to operating hour restrictions, and distributed 126,000 masks and 1,800 hand sanitizers to hygiene-related businesses such as beauty salons, laundries, and instant sales manufacturing and processing businesses.
Lee Seongrim, Director of the Health and Hygiene Division, stated, “As COVID-19 cases continue to occur steadily, please be sure to wear masks indoors,” and added, “Let us also strictly practice daily infection prevention measures such as regular ventilation, disinfection, and hand washing.”
