[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Ryu Kyung-gi, candidate for Mayor of Jungnang-gu, opened his campaign office at the Mangwoo Station intersection and held an opening ceremony at 3 p.m. on April 30.
More than 1,000 residents and party members came to the opening ceremony to offer their congratulations.
Candidate Ryu Kyung-gi, who served as the mayor during the 7th term of direct election, highlights his major achievements such as increasing Jungnang-gu’s budget scale to 7th place in Seoul, raising educational subsidy support to 3rd place, establishing the Bang Jeong-hwan Education Support Center, and promoting educational pride through initiatives like reading a thousand books before school enrollment.
He also emphasizes his accomplishments in boosting the economy, including the construction of Knowledge Industry Centers 1 and 2 and supporting the fashion sewing industry.
Furthermore, he stressed that he innovated Jungnang-gu’s spaces by creating the Bonghwasan walking path, opening the Jungnang Mangwoo Space, and revitalizing areas such as Mangwoo-ro, Sinnae-dong old roads, and the Sagajeong specialized street, thereby tidying up the city and sowing the seeds for a new Jungnang. Now, it is time to settle and grow.
In addition, Ryu Kyung-gi is recognized as a mayor who has practiced relentless on-site communication with 105 Jungnang Masil visits and 106 clean-up activities. He has also received the highest SA grade three times in the Korea Manifesto Pledge Implementation Evaluation, earning him the reputation of a “mayor who keeps promises” and a “warm and competent mayor.”
Candidate Ryu Kyung-gi’s main pledges for the 8th term of direct election include ▲making Jungnang a top-ranked educational city in satisfaction ▲relocating the SH headquarters and completing the Myeonmok Administrative Complex Town ▲comprehensively improving residential environments to raise living standards ▲doubling economic growth engines ▲creating a cultural and sports city in Jungnang ▲communicating and cooperating with civil society ▲building a warm welfare city in Jungnang. He insists that the economic and educational leap of Jungnang-gu, which has just begun to grow, must continue.
Ryu Kyung-gi was confirmed as the Democratic Party candidate for Mayor of Jungnang-gu through a single nomination and, after registering as a preliminary candidate on April 21, set up his office on the 3rd floor of the Sambujusang Complex Building at Mangwoo Station intersection and began full-scale campaigning by visiting subway stations and other locations.
