House Fire in Hongcheon Residential Area [Gangwon Fire Headquarters]

[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] In the early morning of the 1st, a fire broke out at a house in Hongcheon, Gangwon Province, resulting in four deaths.

According to the fire authorities, at around 12:20 a.m. on the day, they received a report of a fire at a detached house in Mogok-ri, Seomyeon, Hongcheon, Gangwon, and upon arrival at the scene, found four deceased individuals.

The deceased were identified as one man in his 70s and three women in their 60s. They were confirmed to be a couple preparing for rural life and acquaintances who had come to visit for the weekend.

After initial firefighting efforts, the victims were found during an internal search near the bathroom and kitchen areas.

The fire completely burned down the house and was extinguished after about 1 hour and 40 minutes.

The police and fire authorities are verifying the identities of the deceased and investigating the cause of the fire.
