[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Jang Seok-woong, a preliminary candidate for Jeonnam Superintendent of Education, held an opening ceremony for his election office and began actively courting voters.
According to Jang Seok-woong's election office on the 30th, the candidate held the opening ceremony under the slogan "Strengthen Jeonnam Education! Let the Children Be Proud!"
The ceremony was attended by a large crowd of about 1,000 people, including Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeonnam Province, National Assembly members Kim Seung-nam and Seo Dong-yong, as well as Jeonnam residents and supporters.
Candidate Jang stated, "With 37 years of experience as a teacher in the field of education, experience in educational civic society organizations including serving as the chairperson of the Korean Teachers and Education Workers Union, and the past four years as a democratic progressive superintendent of education, I have spent time being evaluated by the residents for my ability and qualifications."
He continued, "The people of Jeonnam have generously supported me by ranking first for 33 consecutive months in the nationwide satisfaction survey of the job performance of 17 city and provincial superintendents of education," adding, "This means to look only at the children and move forward with innovation and the future."
He further stated, "Education is a long-term plan spanning a hundred years, so we must walk one step ahead of anything else and be progressive," and added, "Based on the changes and innovations of Jeonnam education so far, I will innovate more and devote my passion so that Jeonnam education can confidently move toward the future."
