"Let's Think Together About Low Birthrate" Jinju City Conducts 'Visiting Population Education' for Elementary, Middle, and High Schools Jinju City is conducting the 'This Year's Visiting Population Education' program for elementary, middle, and high school students.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, is conducting the '2022 Visiting Population Education' for elementary, middle, and high school students to share awareness of the low birthrate and aging society issues and to jointly consider solutions.

The city plans to conduct a total of 14 sessions of education for about 700 elementary, middle, and high school students from 9 schools throughout the year, and held the first session on April 29 at Munsan Elementary School.

On this day, the education was conducted by inviting lecturer Oh Guk-hee from the Population and Future Policy Research Institute under the theme "Happy Me, Happier Our Family," providing time to think about the impact of the low birthrate and aging society on our society and population, as well as the importance of family.

In addition, the city plans to expand the visiting population education to related organizations and citizens in the area to establish a work-family balance culture, such as leaving work on time and taking annual leave without hesitation.

A city official said, "In response to the low birthrate and aging society, it is very important to form positive values regarding marriage and childbirth along with job policies that allow young people to settle in the region," adding, "This year, we will safely promote population education while adhering to social distancing in daily life."
