[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] SK Broadband's subsidiary Home&Service announced on the 29th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ‘AJ Daewon’ to expand the installation of electric vehicle chargers in apartment complexes.

AJ Daewon, the partner in this collaboration, is a building facility management company specializing in managing over 600 facilities nationwide, including apartment complexes. Through this agreement, Home&Service plans to distribute chargers within apartment complexes and further contribute to carbon emission reduction policies. Home&Service aims to provide differentiated services from existing electric vehicle charger operators based on its workforce of 5,000 employees across more than 150 bases nationwide.

Home&Service, which oversees SK Broadband’s high-speed internet and IPTV installation and after-sales service, entered the electric vehicle charging business in September last year. It officially launched the business after being selected as Seoul City’s ‘Electric Vehicle Outlet-type Charger Installation and Operation Subsidy Operator’ in September last year.

Now in its second year of business, Home&Service is showing clear results. It was recently selected for the second consecutive year as Seoul City’s subsidy operator for the installation and operation of electric vehicle outlet-type chargers (3kW). The scale of outlet-type charger installation and operation for apartment complexes in Seoul, which was 1,504 units last year, has expanded nationwide this year to over 2,000 units. Starting this month, the company is also promoting a 7kW slow charger business, which charges twice as fast as the existing 3kW model, thereby broadening consumer choices.

Kim Il, CEO of Home&Service, said, “We will expand the electric vehicle ecosystem by rapidly distributing electric vehicle chargers in residential areas, which are key areas of daily life, and contribute to eco-friendly ESG management.”
