Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority Operates Heavy Equipment Training Course for Pyeongtaek Port Workers

[Asia Economy (Pyeongtaek) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority is recruiting 50 applicants to participate in the 'Pyeongtaek Port Heavy Equipment Training Course for Workers' until September 30.

The Pyeongtaek Port Authority has been operating this program since last year to help improve job skills and obtain certifications not only for shipping, port, and logistics office personnel but also for industrial site workers, and to contribute to strengthening safety awareness in industrial sites such as logistics.

Eligibility requires applicants to be South Korean nationals holding a Class 1 driver's license and working at institutions or companies located near Pyeongtaek Port or working for companies using Pyeongtaek Port.

Trainees apply in advance as corporate units, then receive confirmation of the number of trainees and training schedule, and attend the designated academy for the training.

Applicants wishing to participate must submit application documents including the application form, consent form for collection and use of personal information, business registration certificate, copy of Class 1 driver's license, copy of resident registration card, and certificate of employment to the Pyeongtaek Port Authority.

Lee Jong-yeol, head of the Logistics Marketing Team at Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority, said, "We hope this training will contribute to cultivating the work capabilities of Pyeongtaek Port workers and strengthening safety awareness at industrial sites," adding, "We also hope it will help boost the morale of companies contributing to the increase in cargo volume at Pyeongtaek Port despite the prolonged COVID-19 stagnation."
