Gijang-gun Library Hosts 'Abundant' Events for Family Month Gijang County Office.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] In line with the full lifting of social distancing measures, Gijang-gun has prepared a variety of viewing events for families to participate in during the upcoming Family Month in May to comfort residents exhausted by COVID-19 and to promote library use.


This Family Month event will be held at the Gijang-gun Public Library, which has established itself as a complex cultural space for local residents to share the joy of returning to normal life and to socialize.


At Jeonggwan Library, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Children's Day, on May 5th at 2 p.m., Gijang-gun children will meet the action musical performance "Chorok Guseul" (Green Marble), which discovers love for parents and friends.


Also, on May 27th at 4 p.m., as part of the "Visiting Busan Metropolitan Art Troupe" project conducted by the Busan Metropolitan Art Troupe to expand cultural enjoyment opportunities for residents, the traditional fairy tale "Eolssoojulsso Dokkaebi Bangmangi" (Eolssoojulsso Goblin Club), which teaches the lesson of justice, has been prepared.


At Gijang Library, on the following day, May 28th at 11 a.m., the audience-interactive children's musical "Hyungnaejaengi Dokkaebi" (Mimicking Goblin) with the theme "Let's not bully friends" will be held.


The performances "Chorok Guseul," "Hyungnaejaengi Dokkaebi," and "Eolssoojulsso Dokkaebi Bangmangi" can be applied for from 10 a.m. on the respective days through the Gijang-gun Integrated Library website. Each performance will recruit 60 to 70 people on a first-come, first-served basis.


Applications open from April 28 for "Chorok Guseul," May 12 for "Hyungnaejaengi Dokkaebi," and May 17 for "Eolssoojulsso Dokkaebi Bangmangi."


In addition to cultural performances, various themed animated films for families will also be screened.


At Jeonggwan Library, throughout May, every Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Sodubang Children's Theater, the following films will be shown: Aladdin (May 1), The Little Prince (May 7), Journey to the Lost World (May 8), Up (May 14), Luca (May 15), Red Shoes (May 22), Stork Delivery Baby (May 28), and The Boss Baby (May 29).

At Gijang Library, throughout May, every Sunday at 2 p.m. in the audiovisual room, the following films will be screened: Superstar: Tturu (May 1), Onward: The One Day Miracle (May 15), Little Bicycle: Speedy (May 22), and Go Fish! (May 29).
