[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] The special interview between President Moon Jae-in and former anchor Sohn Suk-hee recorded a viewership rating in the 4% range on the second day, continuing from the previous day.

According to Nielsen Korea, a ratings survey company, the viewership rating for "Interview, Moon Jae-in's 5 Years," which aired on JTBC on the afternoon of the 26th, was 4.315% (based on nationwide paid broadcasting households). This was a 0.1 percentage point drop from the first day's interview rating of 4.493%.

Through the two-day interview with former anchor Sohn, President Moon shared his reflections on his five-year term, and expressed his opinions on overall state affairs including prosecution reform, real estate issues, inter-Korean summits, and the relocation of the presidential office. In particular, during this broadcast, President Moon also offered advice to President-elect Yoon Seok-youl, who lacks diplomatic experience.

President Moon said, "It is inappropriate for President-elect Yoon to use harsh expressions such as talking about preemptive strikes or 'correcting North Korea’s insolence' as a national leader," adding, "The new government will eventually have to restore dialogue with North Korea and sit down face-to-face, but one word can make dialogue difficult and escalate tensions, so this must always be kept in mind."

The interview took place over two days from the 14th to the 15th at the Blue House main building, Yeomin-gwan office, and Sangchunjae, and was broadcast on JTBC for 80 minutes starting at 8:50 p.m. on the 25th and 26th.

Meanwhile, the meeting between President Moon and former anchor Sohn was the first in five years since the 2017 presidential candidate debate. It was also the first time in about three years that President Moon participated in an interview with a specific media outlet since the live broadcast interview "Asking the President" with KBS reporter Song Hyun-jung on the occasion of his second anniversary in office in May 2019.
