[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] On the 26th (local time), Lotte Hotel's Lotte New York Palace and Lotte Hotel Saint Petersburg were selected as Forbes Travel Guide 5-star hotels. With this, Lotte Hotel became the domestic hotel with the most Forbes Travel Guide award-winning hotels.
According to Lotte Hotel on the 27th, the Forbes Travel Guide, known as the "Michelin Guide of hotels," evaluates hotel facilities and services directly based on strict criteria totaling 900 by an anonymous professional evaluation team. Hotels are announced with ratings such as 5-star, 4-star, and recommended hotels.
The historically significant facilities dating back to the 19th century and Korean-style hospitality services seem to have received high praise. Built in 1882, Lotte New York Palace consists of the Villard Mansion (old building) and the Tower Building (new building). With a total of 909 rooms and 23 banquet halls across 55 floors, it is a large-scale luxury hotel rarely seen even in New York.
In particular, ultra-luxurious suites such as the Champagne Suite inspired by "Dom P?rignon" champagne and the Jewel Suite collaborated with the famous jewelry company Martin Katz add a special touch. It continues its legacy as a New York City designated cultural asset by operating "Lalaties," a private membership bar and social club for New York's upper class, and hosting "Ella," the only luxury spa in the U.S. favored by the Dubai royal family.
Lotte Hotel has regularly conducted service training by inviting local executive-level managers to Korea. It has hosted major international events such as the UN General Assembly and the Korea-U.S. summit, and accommodated U.S. presidents including Barack Obama and Donald Trump.
Lotte Hotel Saint Petersburg, selected as a 5-star hotel for three consecutive years, was built as a mansion in 1851. It features a total of 12 types of rooms, including Deluxe Rooms with a high ceiling of 3.5 meters providing a spacious feeling, and Heavenly Rooms with a mansard sloped roof that offers a view of the sky. It boasts differentiated facilities such as a restaurant serving modern Japanese cuisine, a rooftop bar with a view of the tourist attraction St. Isaac's Cathedral, and a spa and swimming pool based on ancient fatigue recovery techniques. Locally known for its reserved social atmosphere, the Korean-style service emphasizing unique kindness is said to contribute to elevating service standards, according to local reviews.
