Applications Accepted from April 26 to May 2, Implementation Starting May 23
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, is recruiting participants for the ‘Jinju-type 2nd Public Job Project’ to create jobs and support the livelihoods of citizens facing economic difficulties such as unemployment and business closures, as well as vulnerable employment groups.
The city provided public jobs to about 1,000 people over three months from January to April this year, and this time will offer jobs to a total of 815 people, including 12 for daily quarantine projects, 472 for environmental maintenance, and 299 for administrative assistance.
However, although quarantine jobs have decreased due to the easing of quarantine rules, additional jobs will be provided to vulnerable employment groups through the expansion of personnel managing community sports facilities.
The recruitment period is from April 26 to May 2. Eligible applicants are those aged 18 to under 65 with work ability as of the project start date, including vulnerable employment groups who have experienced unemployment or business closure due to COVID-19, those on leave, unpaid leave, and Jinju citizens in need of livelihood support due to the local economic downturn.
Those wishing to participate should prepare identification and documents and apply at their local eup/myeon office or dong administrative welfare center. Applicants must carefully check the announcement for restrictions on participation, such as those already participating in public job projects, unemployment benefit recipients, families of public officials, and public pension recipients.
Selected participants will engage for three months starting May 23, working 4 to 6 hours per day depending on the project type. Wages are 9,160 KRW per hour, with an additional daily allowance of 5,000 KRW for incidental expenses (transportation, snacks), plus weekly holiday and annual leave allowances.
A city official said, “We hope this will alleviate residents’ inconveniences and help vulnerable groups facing economic difficulties,” adding, “We will make further efforts to create various jobs to respond to the employment crisis.”
