Hangang Group to Develop 1,571-Unit Apartment Complex in Pyeongtaek-si Hwayang District

Han River Group Co., Ltd., a real estate development specialist company, announced on the 20th that it has signed a subcontracting contract with Hyundai Engineering and plans to supply multi-family housing in the Hwayang District of Pyeongtaek City, Gyeonggi Province.

Han River Group Co., Ltd. established its position as a developer by achieving orders worth 8 trillion won in 2021, and has successfully carried out numerous projects nationwide, including officetels and knowledge industry centers, leading the level of local residential, business, and cultural sectors.

Han River Group recently completed the sale of the ‘Yeongjong Duclass Unseo Station’ officetel and has successfully executed multiple projects with Hyundai Engineering, including Asan Baebang (Hillstate Cheonan Asan Station Duclass Officetel) and Asan Oncheon mixed-use complex PJT.

The ‘Pyeongtaek Hwayang District,’ where the complex will be located, is a large-scale urban development project covering 2,791,195㎡ (approximately 844,000 pyeong), similar in size to Yeouido, accommodating about 20,000 households and a population of 54,084.

The planned multi-family housing in Hwayang District is expected to become a landmark complex located at the entrance of Hwayang District, which is attracting attention as a core residential area. It is geographically adjacent to Poseung District, Seohaean Expressway, and the old downtown of West Pyeongtaek, offering excellent accessibility. The scale is planned to be 720,968㎡ of land area with 14 buildings ranging from 2 basement floors to 31 floors above ground, totaling 1,571 households. The units are composed of △74㎡ 149 households, △76㎡ 76 households, and △84㎡ 1,346 households.

Hwayang District will not only have residential facilities but also various infrastructure such as education, culture, commerce, and green spaces. The relocation of the Anjung Branch Office of Pyeongtaek City Hall, which will handle various civil complaints and administration in the West Pyeongtaek area, is planned. A general hospital with 350 beds equipped with advanced medical facilities is also scheduled to open in 2025.

Additionally, the area is expected to experience simultaneous growth due to many nearby development benefits. The ‘Pyeongtaek Automobile Cluster’ project, covering 1.47 million㎡, is being promoted in Poseung District, and it is also adjacent to the Hyundeok District, where a hydrogen complex district project is underway. When the nearby BIX Poseung District, Camp Humphreys, and the international tourism complex are completed, about 130,000 jobs are expected to be created.

Transportation convenience is also expected to improve. It is close to Anjung Station on the Seohae Line double-track railway, scheduled to open next year. Anjung Station is included in the ‘4th National Railroad Network Construction Plan’ for the connection project between the Gyeongbu High-Speed Railway (KTX) and the Seohae Line, allowing passengers to reach Seoul in 30 minutes without transfers by KTX high-speed train, significantly enhancing accessibility to Seoul. Completion is scheduled for August 2025.
