Gwangju Nambu Fire Station Operates 'Fire Safety Education Program'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Nam-gu Fire Station in Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 24th that since November last year, a fire safety education program has been operating at the Nam-gu 119 Safety Education Center, where any citizen aged 5 and older can directly experience and learn.

The 'Nam-gu 119 Safety Education Center' is located in Bongseon-dong, Nam-gu, with a total floor area of 607.39㎡ and four floors above ground. It consists of the 'Integrated Fire Safety Education Course' covering four basic areas of fire safety education: fire extinguishing equipment, emergency escape devices, fire escape, and first aid; the Korean Association of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation's 'Advanced CPR Course for the General Public'; and the 'Safety Education for Workers in Children's Facilities' program.

Any group or individual wishing to receive education can apply free of charge. Applications for the 'Integrated Fire Safety Education Course' and the 'Safety Education for Workers in Children's Facilities' program can be made through the direct reservation system on the Gwangju Metropolitan City website, while applications for the advanced CPR course for the general public can be made through the Korean Association of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation website.

The education officer at the Nam-gu 119 Safety Education Center said, "Since fire safety education is most important to be internalized through repetitive learning, we will strive to bring 'safety' closer to citizens' daily lives by providing an education center near the citizens."
