- Comprising 783 Units with Exclusive Residential Area of 39~286㎡
- Boasting the Largest Scale in Gangneung, Stability Highlighted by 'Shilla Monogram' Consignment Operation
Ocean259PFV Co., Ltd. plans to open a promotional center this month for Shilla Monogram Gangneung, a premium residential lodging facility (residence) offering panoramic views of the East Sea, located in the Songjeong-dong area of Gangneung City, Gangwon Province. Ocean259PFV Co., Ltd. is a special purpose company established with equity investments from Taeyoung Construction, WooMi Construction, Aegis Asset Management, and Kyobo Asset Trust.
Notably, Shilla Monogram is an "Upper Upscale" brand launched by Hotel Shilla in 2020. Following its debut in Da Nang, Vietnam, this is the second location and the first in Korea to introduce this premium lifestyle brand.
Situated within the Songjeong-dong Gangneung Cultural Olympic Comprehensive Special Zone’s Green Business and Marine Leisure District, Shilla Monogram Gangneung boasts a total floor area of 146,266㎡, making it the largest in Gangwon Province. The complex consists of three buildings ranging from one basement level to 21 floors above ground, featuring 783 residential lodging units and over 300 hotel rooms.
The residential lodging units are designed in 23 diverse types to broaden consumer choices. The most supplied unit, Type A1 (39㎡ exclusive area, 408 units), features a simple design with a natural mood, offering ocean-view terraces and comfortable dining spaces. It also allows sea views from the bathroom, and with the use of a daybed, can accommodate up to four guests. Type B1 (101㎡ exclusive area, 34 units) is a suite room with a modern and restrained design, equipped with a jacuzzi on the terrace, allowing guests to relax and enjoy the endlessly panoramic sea views. The standalone villas, offering complete rest in nature, include 4 units of 286㎡ and 5 units of 253㎡, totaling 9 units.
The signature facility within the complex is the Forest Pool, located closest to the sea right beside the poolside and facing a pine forest. Additionally, the spa includes a hydrotherapy pool for water therapy and an infinity edge pool for warm water healing. Other amenities available year-round include an art gallery lounge, private party rooms, private wine cellars, a private theater, and a space for screen golf.
Shilla Monogram Gangneung is managed by Hotel Shilla’s Shilla Monogram, a leading brand in the domestic hotel industry with extensive expertise in room operations. The residential lodging units are divided into income-generating and villa types. All buyers receive top-tier benefits from Shilla Rewards. For income-generating units, owners can use the facility free of charge for 30 days per year at their preferred times through advance reservation (management fees apply separately). For the remaining 11 months, Shilla Monogram operates the rooms on behalf of the owners and distributes the revenue generated. Villa-type units can be used year-round by the owners.
Gangneung is recognized as a representative marine tourism city in Korea. It is surrounded by many famous tourist attractions such as Gyeongpo Provincial Park, Daegwallyeong Sheep Farm, Ojukheon, Coffee Museum, and Jeongdongjin. Particularly, Shilla Monogram Gangneung, located in Songjeong-dong, is adjacent to Gangmun Beach and Songjeong Beach, allowing easy access to various marine leisure facilities on foot. With no tall buildings nearby, all rooms offer unobstructed views of the East Sea.
Its proximity to KTX Gangneung Station makes access from Seoul and other areas convenient. Using the KTX, it takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes from Cheongnyangni Station to Gangneung Station, and about 2 hours from Seoul Station to Gangneung Station. Nearby National Routes 7 and 35 provide easy access to the Donghae Expressway and Yeongdong Expressway. The Gangneung Intercity Bus Terminal is also nearby. Furthermore, the Donghae Northern Line Gangneung?Jejin railway construction project (scheduled for 2027) and the Gyeonggang Line high-speed rail project connecting Gangneung and Incheon (scheduled for 2027) are planned, promising even more convenient transportation.
Another advantage is freedom from real estate regulations. Residential lodging facilities are classified under the Building Act and Public Health Control Act, not as housing. No subscription savings account is required, and even if selected, these units are not counted as housing, thus avoiding acquisition tax and capital gains tax surcharges. Individual registration is possible, allowing free resale of pre-sale rights.
A sales representative stated, “Alongside the luxury lodging facilities built in the existing Olympic special zone, we plan to increase the green space ratio beyond the original plan and create a cultural gallery and village-type commercial complex, making it a nature-friendly space that not only tourists but also Gangneung citizens can enjoy together, reflecting the dignity of Gangneung.”
