[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Kim Dong-chan, a student at Chosun University, received the Dudream Dream Support Scholarship from the Gwangju Metropolitan City Disabled Rehabilitation Association.
The scholarship award ceremony held on the 20th at the Chosun University Disabled Student Support Center was organized to celebrate the 2022 Day of Persons with Disabilities and to encourage and support the dreams of young people with disabilities in the local community.
At the ceremony, Na Jong-man, president of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Disabled Rehabilitation Association, and officials from the Chosun University Disabled Student Support Center attended to support and encourage Kim Dong-chan’s dream and awarded him a scholarship of 1 million won.
Kim Dong-chan, a senior majoring in Political Science and Diplomacy, has a severe brain lesion disability but is diligently pursuing his university life to achieve his dream of becoming a teacher, including completing the teacher training course.
He is also leading the organization of 'Blending,' the student council of the Disabled Student Support Center, and actively working on disability student rights activities.
On the day, Kim Dong-chan said, "To achieve my dream of becoming a teacher, I will actively participate in programs and continue to make steady efforts so that I can challenge everything I am capable of until the end."
Jung Eun-hee, director of the Disabled Student Support Center, said, "We thank the Gwangju Metropolitan City Disabled Rehabilitation Association for awarding the scholarship, and our Chosun University Disabled Student Support Center will also spare no support for the precious dreams of students with disabilities," adding, "We will devise various programs and support methods that everyone can participate in together."
