[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Kwon Seong-dong, floor leader of the People Power Party, urged President Moon Jae-in on the 19th to exercise his veto power regarding the 'Complete Prosecution Reform Act' that the Democratic Party of Korea is forcefully pushing forward.

At the floor strategy meeting held that day, Floor Leader Kwon said, "I ask President Moon to stop passing the responsibility onto the National Assembly's time and to show a presidential demeanor."

He emphasized, "The Complete Prosecution Reform Act is filled with unconstitutional elements, and the veto power must be exercised. Now is the time to keep the promise made to the people five years ago to uphold the Constitution."

Floor Leader Kwon referred to the Democratic Party's legislative push as "tantamount to condoning evil" and quoted former President Kim Dae-jung's saying, "Indifference is the greatest shame, and servility is the greatest sin."

He also addressed National Assembly Speaker Park Byeong-seok, saying, "You should not submit the Complete Prosecution Reform Act, which directly violates the Constitution. The National Assembly must not violate the Constitution on its own. As Speaker, I hope you will protect the constitutional order."

Floor Leader Kwon is scheduled to meet at 3 p.m. that day with Democratic Party floor leader Park Hong-geun, presided over by Speaker Park Byeong-seok.
