[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Doo-yeol] Gijang-gun and Dongseo University will officially launch the "Evergreen Project," a win-win cooperation initiative in the film and video culture sector, starting this May.
The "Community Win-Win Cooperation Project" aims to solve local issues by utilizing the human and material infrastructure of universities in the Busan area and to achieve innovation together with local universities. The project is overseen by the Busan Talent Lifelong Education Promotion Institute.
Gijang-gun and Dongseo University have established a foundation for synergy creation, expanding cultural enjoyment opportunities for marginalized groups within the region, and job creation through the "Evergreen Project," linked with the soon-to-be-built Busan Gijang Filming Studio.
The project was selected in the final public competition for the "Community Win-Win Cooperation Project" in March last year and is now advancing into its second year following last year's efforts.
The "Evergreen Project" is a project preparing for a healthy centenarian era and a happy old age by providing cultural and artistic benefits to local seniors through film and video culture.
In the first year of the project last year, various film and video culture-related programs were organized, including operating a film university for seniors aged 65 and older using the Jukseong Dream Set and holding a university student idea contest to revitalize tourism in Gijang-gun.
In the second year, the project plans to upgrade the first year's programs by promoting ▲ Evergreen Film University ▲ Evergreen Village Media Education ▲ Evergreen Performances and Film Festival ▲ Idea Contest, among others.
To link education and experiences related to film and video culture with job creation, the project will continuously discover related initiatives and enhance the detailed programs of the "Evergreen Project" through consultations with related organizations such as the Busan Film Commission.
Dongseo University will actively utilize its strengths in the film and video field by providing a film university curriculum staffed by professors from the Im Kwon-taek College of Film Arts and supporting human and material infrastructure broadly for the "Evergreen Project," including collaborative performances between students and seniors.
A Gijang-gun official stated, "We plan to continuously maintain the connection with local universities so that the Evergreen Project can be established as a leading model of win-win cooperation between local governments and regional universities and become a recognized brand."
