Yuseokwoo, President of Gwangju Handball Association, Donates 10 Million Won Development Fund to Chosun University


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Yoo Seok-woo, president of the Gwangju Handball Association, donated a development fund to Chosun University for 'sports talent cultivation.'


Chosun University announced on the 18th that it held a donation ceremony at the main building and received a development fund of 10 million KRW from President Yoo.


The donation will be used for practice and skill enhancement of the Chosun University handball team and for nurturing outstanding talents.


President Yoo is recognized for contributing to the expansion of the sport, including hosting the 10th National School Sports Club Handball Tournament. Recently, when the Gwangju Urban Corporation women's handball team achieved its best-ever record since its founding, he also prepared and provided encouragement funds.


President Yoo said, "I hope Chosun University, which is looking forward to a 100-year history in the region, will establish itself much more firmly and genuinely in the community than it does now. As a member of the local community, I am happy and grateful to have the opportunity to participate in the development of the school."


Min Young-don, president of Chosun University, said, "I would like to thank you once again for preparing a scholarship fund for the growing talents. We will work together to discover and nurture outstanding talents by utilizing the donation according to its intended purpose."


The Chosun University handball team has shown achievements by winning awards in various competitions such as the 2015 Handball Korea National University Championship, the National Handball Championships by category, and the Taebaeksan National Comprehensive Championships.
