Candidate Park Jin-kwon Announces Bold Pledge: "Towards a Young Goheung"

[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Park Jin-kwon (50), a preliminary candidate for Goheung County Governor who challenged the election with the goal of eradicating regional division forces, announced his pledge on the 18th, saying, "I will change Goheung to be younger."

First, in the first round of pledge announcements, he proposed creating 1,000 youth jobs through attracting a marine cable car and constructing a seawater circulation channel.

This pledge presented solutions for childbirth, child-rearing, and housing issues so that young people can settle down, as well as small but certain happiness pledges for the elderly.

He promised full tuition coverage from two children born in Goheung through university, free housing supply for families with three or more children, 50 million KRW settlement support for second-generation young couples inheriting property, establishment of public postpartum care centers and 24-hour childcare centers, and guaranteeing a monthly income of 3 million KRW for employed youth.

Furthermore, for families with elderly members protected due to dementia level 3 or higher or illness, he pledged to establish a short-term care center for the elderly, supply lunch boxes for elderly living alone, and provide AI robot care systems.

Candidate Park Jin-kwon expressed concern, saying, "No matter how much young people want to settle, if childcare, education, and housing issues do not reach a satisfactory level compared to neighboring cities, it will never succeed. We need to present somewhat excessive and bold incentives to slightly alleviate population decline, and if young people do not settle, middle-aged people will face difficulties caring for elderly seniors."

He continued, "This is not a matter of judging the feasibility of policies, but if we do not boldly propose and push forward, our Goheung will inevitably become a real extinction area. I cannot help but worry about how much willingness those who do not live in Goheung and will leave the governor's position to return to their homes in Seoul will have to solve these urgent problems."

Meanwhile, candidate Park Jin-kwon was born in Goheung-eup, Goheung County, graduated from Goheungdong Elementary School, Gwangju Dongsin High School, and Chosun University with a major in Political Science and Diplomacy. He served as the president of Jeonnam JC in 2010, deputy head of the central election committee organization for President Lee Jae-myung, and was a member of the 11th Jeollanam-do Provincial Assembly.
