Wando County Office Weightlifting Team Achieves 6 Medals at National Competition

Participation in the National Spring Men and Women Weightlifting Championships and 2022 Asian Games Selection Evaluation Match

[Wando＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] The weightlifting team of Jeonnam Wando County Office achieved a great success by winning 5 gold medals and 1 silver medal at the 'National Spring Men and Women Weightlifting Competition and 2022 Asian Games Selection Evaluation' held until the 14th.

According to Wando County on the 18th, player Lee Yang-jae (+109kg), who participated in the 2022 Asian Games selection evaluation, won 1st place in snatch with 178kg, 2nd place in clean and jerk with 230kg, and 1st place in total with 408kg, earning 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal.

Player Lim Jeong-hee (+87kg) took 1st place in snatch with 110kg, 1st place in clean and jerk with 132kg, and 1st place in total with 242kg in the women's college general division, winning 3 gold medals.

Player Kim Jun (81kg) recorded 4th place in snatch with 116kg, 4th place in clean and jerk with 145kg, and 4th place in total with 261kg in the men's college general division.

Seo Ho-cheol, coach of the Wando County Office weightlifting team, said, "Despite difficult conditions such as COVID-19, the players did their best in training and achieved valuable results," and added, "We hope Kang Min-woo, who unfortunately could not participate in this competition due to injury, recovers quickly."

Meanwhile, the '2022 National Junior Weightlifting Championships' will be held in Wando this coming November.
