Gijang-gun, 'Gijang OK Dolbom' Project ... Expansion to All Eup and Myeon Areas

Gijang-gun, 'Gijang OK Dolbom' Project ... Expansion to All Eup and Myeon Areas Gijang County Office.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan Gijang-gun is expanding the ‘Gijang OK Care’ project to all eup and myeon areas.

The ‘Gijang OK Care’ project is a Gijang-type model of the ‘Busan-type Integrated Care Project,’ providing integrated health and welfare services in daily life so that residents can spend a healthy old age where they have lived. It is a community integrated care (community care) project.

The county provides various integrated care services through nine projects in four areas: ▲nursing care ▲healthcare ▲housing support ▲infrastructure development. Major projects include ▲home care services (nutritious meals, laundry service, transportation card support) ▲visiting nurse support ▲mental and physical care projects for a healthy old age ▲customized safe housing environment improvement projects ▲operation of care-safe housing (temporary housing facilities) ▲training of care workers.

The project is promoted through agreements with Gijang Comprehensive Social Welfare Center and Gijang Regional Self-Support Center, and based on public-private cooperation and resident participation, it plans to provide an integrated care model unique to the Gijang area so that the elderly can spend a healthy old age within the community.

The project targets elderly people aged 65 or older who need integrated care, such as those in high-risk groups with chronic diseases and those returning to the community after discharge. Candidates are selected through initial consultation, evaluation, and case meetings.

A county official said, “Jangan-eup and Cheolma-myeon are areas with particularly high elderly populations and need integrated care services. With the expansion of the Gijang OK Care project to all eup and myeon areas, no region will be left out and everyone can receive welfare benefits. We will do our best to promote the project so that the elderly in the region can spend a healthy old age in their own homes.”

Inquiries and applications for the ‘Gijang OK Care’ project can be made at the integrated care desk of the customized welfare team at each eup and myeon administrative welfare center.
