[Seoul District News] Gwanak-gu to Provide Organized Storage Service for Dual-Income, Single-Parent, Multicultural, and Disabled Families; First 150 Households Accepted to Promote Work-Life Balance and Improve Psychological Quality of Life
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwanak-gu announced that it will provide free organizing and storage services to 150 households facing difficulties in organizing and storage, such as dual-income families, single-parent families, multicultural families, and families with disabilities.
The "Residential Space Styling Service" is a project that provides jobs to career-interrupted women with organizing and storage certifications while offering organizing and storage services to selected households, aiming to promote work-life balance and improve psychological quality of life.
The service runs from April to December, with a team of five stylists conducting preliminary consultations with target households and providing customized organizing and storage services suitable for each household's living environment. After the service, follow-up inspections are conducted to check if the organizing state is maintained and to consult on any issues.
Eligible recipients are households with multiple minor children earning less than 120% of the median income, prioritizing dual-income families, multicultural families, single-parent families, and North Korean defectors with children in elementary school or younger.
Additionally, households with seniors aged 65 or older living alone and families with disabilities earning less than 100% of the median income are selected through recommendations from local welfare centers and community service centers.
Applications can be submitted by checking the announcement and application forms on the Gwanak-gu Office website (News → Gwanak News) or the Gwanak Women's Human Resources Development Center website, preparing documents such as health insurance payment confirmation, proof of economic activity, and resident registration, and applying via email or in person at the Gwanak Women's Human Resources Development Center.
A district official stated, "This project provides jobs to career-interrupted women suffering from employment difficulties due to COVID-19 while supporting households in need of organizing and storage services to achieve a balanced life between work and home, so we encourage many interested residents to apply."
Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that it has rapidly distributed rapid antigen test kits to vulnerable groups such as recipients with mobility difficulties and people with severe disabilities.
Starting from the fourth week of February until the first week of April (April 4?8), the district distributed 310,000 rapid antigen test kits to approximately 53,730 vulnerable individuals, including daycare children and staff, elderly, disabled, children, pregnant women, and basic livelihood security recipients using social welfare facilities.
In particular, the distribution method for 31,900 kits delivered to vulnerable groups such as recipients with mobility difficulties and people with severe disabilities was improved to parcel delivery to strengthen protection of vulnerable groups through prompt "voluntary preemptive testing."
Additionally, the local self-sufficiency center's "processing" project team contributed to COVID-19 response and local economic revitalization by repackaging test kits and selecting local courier companies.
The district plans to provide an additional 50,000 test kits to 20,000 people in the second week of April (April 11?15), targeting social welfare facilities for disabled and elderly people with high infection vulnerability, child and single-parent family welfare facilities, and senior job participants.
A district official said, "We aimed to minimize delivery time to provide rapid antigen test kits to vulnerable groups who are easily exposed to infection risks in a timely manner," adding, "We hope this will help protect vulnerable groups through voluntary preemptive testing in response to the spread of COVID-19."
