Possession of Two Neighborhood Living Facilities in Daegu Worth 3.4 Billion KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Jeong Ho-young, the nominee for Minister of Health and Welfare, reported assets totaling 6.24 billion KRW.
According to the confirmation hearing request submitted to the National Assembly on the 14th, Jeong reported an apartment in Nam-gu, Daegu, jointly owned with his spouse (355 million KRW), and two neighborhood living facility buildings in Daegu under his name (3.39149 billion KRW and 73.65 million KRW respectively).
He also owns farmland (599.99 million KRW) and a field (71.99 million KRW) in Gumi-si, Gyeongbuk under his name. However, he is suspected of violating the Farmland Act as he is not actually farming on these lands.
On the 12th, Jeong explained, "It is ancestral land, and since it has been held for a very long time, I am currently assessing the situation."
Jeong reported a 2010 Mercedes-Benz E300 (11.08 million KRW) and a 2019 Cayenne (59.2 million KRW) under his spouse's name.
Deposits amount to 1.68926 billion KRW combined for him and his spouse, and securities under his name include Delaware stocks worth 4.173 million KRW (390 shares). This company was established by No Jae-heon, the eldest son of former President Roh Tae-woo, and his nephew Geum Han-tae.
His eldest son and eldest daughter reported deposits of 53.14 million KRW and 131.02 million KRW respectively.
Jeong enlisted as a military doctor (Army captain) in 1990 and completed his military service in 1993. His eldest son enlisted as an Army private in 2019, worked at the Daegu District Court, and was discharged in 2020.
According to tax records, there are no delinquent tax records for Jeong's family.
