The Metaverse Supporters Launch Ceremony is being held at Dong-Eui University.

At the launch ceremony held on the 14th, 12 enrolled students were assigned supporter duties. They will build a virtual campus using Minecraft and handle campus tours, school introductions, and various metaverse-based events in the virtual space.

Park Chang-joo, the team leader, said, "As non-face-to-face interactions became the norm due to COVID-19, it was regrettable that the culture of togetherness at the university disappeared," adding, "We will do our best to make the metaverse ecosystem a new communication channel to activate on- and off-campus programs and events."

Kim Sam-yeol, Director of Admissions and Public Relations, said, "The metaverse virtual campus will be used to introduce the university, its departments, admissions information, and provide counseling for students and parents preparing for entrance exams," and added, "Dong-Eui University plans to gradually expand the application areas to develop as a leading metaverse university representing Busan."

As a specialized project, last year, Minecraft crew students built part of the virtual campus and held graduation and entrance ceremony events in the virtual space.

Due to the high response and satisfaction from participating students at that time, support for participating students has been increased from this year, and the supporters group was founded.
