Prosecutors Summon Former Presidents of Public Enterprises Under Ministry of Industry as Witnesses


[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The prosecution, investigating allegations of a blacklist within the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, is currently questioning a former president of a power-related public enterprise under the ministry.


According to the legal community on the 14th, the Criminal Division 6 of the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Choi Hyung-won) summoned Mr. A, a former president of a power-related public enterprise under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, as a witness and is conducting an investigation.


Mr. A served as the president of a power-related public enterprise under the ministry from 2014 until the Moon Jae-in administration began in 2017.


However, the public enterprise Mr. A was affiliated with is not among the eight public enterprises under the ministry that the prosecution raided on the 28th of last month.
