From Bizarre Tuning Car Experiences to Exhibitions... The 1st TS Tuning Car Festival Held

Tuning Cars and Monster Cars Exhibition

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority announced on the 14th that the "2022 1st TS Tuning Car Festival" will be held for two days from May 14 to 15 at the "BMW Driving Center" in Incheon Metropolitan City.

The Tuning Car Festival is an experiential event where visitors can see and feel outstanding performance tuning cars with unique and attractive appearances firsthand at the site. As the automobile tuning market grows, the festival is organized to support the growth of tuning companies by introducing excellent tuning technologies and products. The automobile tuning market grew from 2.2 trillion won in 2017 to 5.9 trillion won in 2020, and is expected to exceed 10 trillion won around 2030.

The exhibition will showcase various types of tuning cars and parts, including engine and brake performance enhancement "Tune-up," wrapping and special painting "Dress-up," and camping and food cars "Build-up."

Along with the exhibition, thrilling on- and off-road races by professional car racers will be held in various formats. The "Gymkhana" race is a competition where drivers quickly navigate a complex, tangled course using driving techniques such as drifting to determine the winner. The "Off-road" race features off-road tuned vehicles overcoming various obstacle courses such as steep slopes, water puddles, and uneven sections in the shortest time possible. There will also be circuit driving events for internal combustion engine cars and electric vehicles.

Additionally, there will be experiential events where visitors can enjoy activities such as a drifting experience simulating car chases from movies, extreme bumpy off-road driving experiences, and a kart and autonomous driving kit experience zone for child visitors.

Applications for the experiential events can be made by anyone through pre-registration on the Tuning Car Festival website starting April 18, and on-site registration will also be available on the day of the event.
