One-stop support for customized information search as well as application, reception, and processing of youth support projects
Seoul Youth Center consultation management system also established
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul City announced that it will newly open the comprehensive youth policy platform, Youth Mongttang Information Center, a core pledge of Mayor Oh Se-hoon, at 9 p.m. on the 14th.
Youth Mongttang Information Center is a comprehensive youth policy platform that gathers and provides about 2,000 youth policies scattered across Seoul City, the central government, and others, allowing customized searches as well as one-stop application, reception, and processing. Seoul City has been operating the Seoul Youth Portal since April 2019 to improve youth policy accessibility and application convenience. However, it only provided policy information centered on Seoul City youth policies, limiting the ability to view central government youth policies all at once. Accordingly, ahead of the opening of Youth Mongttang Information Center, Seoul City signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Employment Information Service on November 1 last year to link and provide Seoul City and central government youth policy information through an Open API method.
Youth Mongttang Information Center supports one-stop application, reception, and processing of youth support projects. Online applications are available for major Seoul City youth support projects such as innovative future youth jobs in new industries, youth public transportation support, youth allowances, support for reclusive youth, student loan interest support, Young Tech, youth mental health support, and youth life design school.
Additionally, to ensure no youth misses applying due to unawareness of policies or timing, customized information based on individual interests is proactively delivered. When interests such as employment, housing, and education are set, customized policy information based on individual interests will be sent via text messages, encouraging applications.
Youth Mongttang Information Center also includes the ‘Sangdam Orang’ management system operated by Seoul Youth Centers installed by region. ‘Sangdam Orang’ is a counseling program operated to connect youth concerns and needs with policies and resources. Until now, youth wishing to receive counseling applied individually to centers, and counseling was conducted accordingly, but from now on, online counseling applications will be possible through Youth Mongttang Information Center. Using this system, counseling history management, which has been operated and managed by individual centers, will be conducted more systematically. By checking applicants’ interest information and policy participation history, it is expected that more satisfactory counseling will be provided.
Kim Cheol-hee, head of Seoul City’s Future Youth Planning Team, said, “It is also important to enhance policy information accessibility and convenience so that no one misses applying due to lack of knowledge about good policies,” adding, “We will do our best to ensure that necessary policy information is delivered timely to each Seoul youth so that those who need it can benefit.”
