[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Lotte Department Store is presenting various contents to encourage eco-friendly consumption in daily life in celebration of the upcoming 'Earth Day.'

To mark Earth Day on the 22nd of this month, Lotte Department Store has prepared various events to encourage customers to participate in eco-friendly consumption. First, they propose the easiest practice in daily life: 'using tumblers instead of disposable cups.' At 'Maison Archive,' a lifestyle curation shop operated by Lotte Department Store at the main store, Jamsil branch, and Dongtan branch, various tumbler products will be sold at up to 50% discount from the 15th of this month until the 1st of next month. A total of seven brands are participating, with representative brands including the premium tumbler brand 'S’well,' the eco-friendly outdoor tumbler brand 'HYDROFLASK,' the sentimental kitchenware brand 'TIGER,' and the fashion tumbler brand 'mybevi.' In particular, the 'S’well' tumbler, which is highly loved as an essential item for commuting to school among elementary students as well as office workers, will also have a free engraving event until Saturday, May 1st.

A pop-up of 'Ecogram,' where popular eco-friendly brands can be found in one place, will also be presented. From the 15th of this month to July 14th, the first floor of the Yeongdeungpo branch will host the eco-friendly culture platform 'Ecogram' pop-up, showcasing about 10 lifestyle brands using eco-friendly materials in one place. Representative brands include the vegan fashion brand 'Dear Life,' 'Holy Number 7,' which has gained attention by being worn by famous domestic and international celebrities, 'OverLab,' which upcycles paragliders, and 'Vegan Tiger,' which recently won the grand prize at the 'K-Fashion Audition.' In particular, the 'Recycle Print Half Shirt' series by 'Vegan Tiger,' made by reusing 18 discarded PET bottles, adds unique patterns to the 1980s new romantic mood and is expected to be highly loved by the MZ generation, who value conscious consumption and individuality. Additionally, until the 24th of this month, customers who purchase at the 'Ecogram' store will receive an eco bag and a T-shirt made from recycled materials as additional gifts depending on the purchase amount.

Various experiential contents where customers can directly make various eco-friendly products have also been prepared. At 'Nuance,' a clean beauty specialty edit shop recently opened at Pyeongchon and Ilsan branches in line with the 'value consumption' trend, customers who purchase one or more products can enjoy a free experience of 'making plaster air fresheners' using eco-friendly materials until the 31st of next month. In addition, the Lotte Culture Center continuously offers classes related to 'zero waste,' which protects the environment by reducing unnecessary waste. Especially, classes such as making eco-friendly 'shampoo bars,' 'solid toothpaste and kitchen soap,' which allow simple environmental protection practices in daily life, are very popular, and there are plans to continuously expand related classes.

Meanwhile, on Lotte ON, starting from the 18th, a special exhibition of the 'Eroon (ON) Brand' will be held in collaboration with 'Patagonia.' The 'Eroon Brand' project, which began in February this year, informs customers about brands and products that conduct earth-beneficial business activities every 22nd of the month. This month, it is held together with the eco-friendly global outdoor sports brand 'Patagonia.' Popular products such as Patagonia's T-shirts, outerwear, and eco bags will be offered at discounted prices, and through customer participation events and live broadcasts, Patagonia's eco-friendly campaign will be widely promoted.

Kim Jihyun, Head of Marketing and Communications at Lotte Department Store, said, "Eco-friendly consumption is no longer a temporary trend by a few but has become a global standard for consumption," and added, "We hope that through the various contents prepared for this Earth Day, customers will be able to participate in eco-friendly consumption through small practices in their daily lives."
