Jjajang Is Right!
Jjajangmyeon Eating Day, April 14th Black Day! Black Day is a commemorative day that originated from singles who endured Valentine's Day and White Day gathering to eat jjajangmyeon and soothe their hearts that have turned black. Despite the name 'Black Day,' it carries the exact opposite meaning of 'White Day,' where couples exchange candies.
Although the origin is sad, in fact... for us food lovers, that doesn't matter. We're just happy to have a good excuse to eat jjajangmyeon! To celebrate Black Day, we asked DrinKit editors what their favorite jjajang ramen is. If you are planning to eat jjajang ramen for dinner tonight, consider the editors' comments.
Chapaghetti
Sunnyter Classic is best! Chapaghetti, the original and the standard for jjajang ramen flavor, evokes nostalgic memories. Of course, there have been tastier ramen releases than Chapaghetti, but when thinking of jjajang ramen, Chapaghetti is the first to come to mind. This is probably because it contains all the memories of childhood spent with cartoons and school days filled with friends. Even as an adult, when I’m too lazy to prepare a meal, I often reach for Chapaghetti, and every time I eat it, vivid scenes from my memories come to life. How about spending a happy and delicious Black Day with Chapaghetti topped with a fried egg?
Chapaghetti Beombuk
Bomditer The best of the best jjajang ramen is definitely Chapaghetti Beombuk. The combination of the non-greasy jjajang sauce and the thin noodles that quickly absorb the flavor is excellent. Because of the powder soup, which is quite abundant compared to the amount of noodles, it tastes saltier than Chapaghetti, but that is part of its charm. You just need to pour water to the appropriate level without having to discard any, so even I, who still can’t figure out how much water to discard when eating bibim cup noodles, can eat it without worry. The portion is a bit small, which is a pity... but it’s okay. I can eat two, so it’s even better. Small and precious Chapaghetti Beombuk... I love you!
Scallion Oil Roasted Jjajang Ramen
Aditer The combination of jjajang and scallions is always right. If you like eating Chapaghetti with scallion kimchi, you should especially pay attention to this ramen. It is jjajang ramen with added scallion oil. The glossy noodles and sauce with rich flavor enhanced by scallion oil are perfect in every way. On days when you crave freshly made Chinese restaurant jjajangmyeon instead of Chapaghetti, try this. Just by boiling one bag of ramen, you’ll be surprised by the feeling of being at a Chinese restaurant!
Enjoy a happy Black Day with delicious jjajang ramen!
