[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] President-elect Yoon Suk-yeol will have a communication session on the 13th with national elders including former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. This is the first event for public communication promoted by the Presidential Transition Committee's National Integration Committee.
The National Integration Committee announced that President-elect Yoon will attend the 'Listening Table, Seeking Wisdom' event in the morning at the Korea Furniture Museum in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, where he will hear expert opinions on overall state affairs from national elders in various fields.
At this event, eight national elders will attend, including former Secretary-General Ban, former National Assembly member Shin Young-kyun, former Minister of Environment Kim Myung-ja, former Prime Minister Kim Hwang-sik, former Minister of Culture Shin Nak-gyun, former Chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection Jeon Yoon-cheol, Chairman of the Sokang Yuk Young Foundation Jeong Dae-cheol, and poet Moon Jeong-hee.
The National Integration Committee stated, "We plan to listen to the professional insights of respected national elders from various fields and reflect them in the governance of the Yoon Suk-yeol administration. We will continue to create opportunities to listen to voices from diverse sectors of society and all walks of life."
The National Integration Committee is also promoting communication sessions with those suffering from disasters, those practicing sharing, those playing important roles in the cultural and artistic fields, and those working hard to protect the safety of the people.
