Reasons Tourists Flock to Yangyang, Gangwon-do... Lifestyle Accommodation 'Wavelrent Yangyang' Also Gaining Attention [Wavelrent Yangyang Perspective, Image provided by Ilgun Construction Co., Ltd.]

As tourists flock to Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do, investment in residential lodging facilities is gaining attention. This is because Yangyang has recently emerged as the most desired 'hot place' for Koreans to visit, leading to an increase in accommodation demand.

Yangyang-gun is home to the country's top surfing spots, including Jukdo Beach, as well as Mulchi Beach, Naksan, Seorak, and Junggwangjeong, where visitors can enjoy the waves. The Yangyang 10 Scenic Spots, which add Surf Road and Osan-ri Prehistoric Museum to the famous eight scenic spots such as Namdaecheon and Daecheongbong, are attracting attention as tourist destinations. In particular, unique guesthouses, coffee shops, and restaurants are located at Jukdo, Ing?, Dongsan, and Hajodae Surf Beach, collectively known as the 'Yangridan-gil,' which is gaining popularity.

Various development projects are expected to further increase tourist inflow. This year, Yangyang-gun was selected for the Smart Tourism City creation project. This project continuously improves tourism content and infrastructure, and under the theme 'Waves in My Hand, Smart Travel - Smart Surf City Yangyang,' it plans to establish a one-stop integrated reservation platform for tourism, transportation, accommodation, and restaurants in the marine leisure specialized zone.

Fly Gangwon, based at Yangyang Airport, has begun preparations to resume international flights. Starting in May, the Yangyang-Philippines Clark route will launch, with plans to expand routes to Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, and more. As a result, not only domestic tourists but also foreign tourists are expected to flock to Yangyang. Additionally, Yangyang-gun has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for international tourism facility development to attract foreign tourists and aims to develop tourism and leisure facilities along the Yangyang beach area.

Amid this, the residential lodging facility 'Wavelrent Yangyang' is set to be built in front of Jukdo Beach, drawing attention. The complex will consist of one building with three basement floors and 20 above-ground floors, totaling 408 units with exclusive areas ranging from 23 to 39 square meters, designed to accommodate the rapidly increasing tourist demand.

Wavelrent Yangyang offers easy access to nearby areas such as Goseong-gun and Gangneung-si via the adjacent Donghae-daero, and quick entry to the Donghae Expressway connecting Samcheok and Sokcho. Furthermore, with the full opening of the Seoul-Yangyang Expressway in 2017, Seoul is now accessible within 90 minutes. It is also easy to travel to the metropolitan area using the Yeongdong Expressway, Yangyang International Airport, and Gangneung KTX. Additionally, development benefits continue with projects such as the East-West High-Speed Railway (scheduled for 2026), the Donghae Northern Line plan, and the expansion of Fly Gangwon routes.

The facility offers various floor plans, making it suitable for couples as well as family tourists. Most rooms provide unobstructed panoramic ocean views, and all units feature balconies to enhance space utilization and comfort. The top floors are designed as duplexes to maximize openness.

The interior is decorated with a surfing-inspired aesthetic, and between the beach and the building, there is an open public space accessible to everyone, along with a rooftop relaxation area where visitors can enjoy refreshing views of the East Sea at a glance.

Meanwhile, sales promotion centers are operating in both Seoul and Sokcho.
