Selected for Support by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy to Foster Talent in Mobility Convergence
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Daegu University Engineering Education Innovation Center was recently selected as a final recipient of the ‘2022 Creative Convergence Engineering Talent Cultivation Support Project’ hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
This project allows engineering departments to independently establish directions for engineering education innovation and develop and operate engineering education programs tailored to industry demand and university characteristics.
The total project period is up to six years, from this year through 2028, with an annual budget of 150 million KRW supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and 15 million KRW supported by Gyeongbuk Province and Gyeongsan City.
Daegu University plans to actively cooperate with local governments and regional industries aiming to cultivate mobility convergence talents in the community through new technology education in ‘Future Smart Mobility.’
Programs for creative convergence engineering talent cultivation will also be operated for students of the College of Engineering, College of Information and Communication, and AI Department, including ▲future mobility-related education programs ▲capstone design ▲industry-academia cooperation programs ▲humanities convergence programs.
Park Cheol-young, head of Daegu University Engineering Education Innovation Center, said, “Based on regional strategic industries and university characteristics, we will develop and operate programs in the future mobility industry sector to cultivate creative convergence engineering talents equipped with practical skills for the industry.”
