[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The '1st Asia Economy Honam·Jeje Ironman Golf Tournament,' hosted by the Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters and organized by Jeje Band, will be held in Jeju Island from July 18 to 20. The event features the longest duration and most holes completed in a total of 11 rounds and 198 holes over three days, challenging the official highest record of the Korea Records Institute in the 'Longest Duration Golf Marathon Team Category.'

Recently, as golf has become more popular, the influx of the 20s and 30s generation and the rapid increase in golf club members have led to various attempts and needs related to golf.

The golf ironman competition, which started from the question, "How long can one play golf in a day?" is a new type of golf event that requires swing skills, stamina, and endurance by playing golf for the longest time and the most holes, similar to a triathlon, an unprecedented field in golf.

In this tournament, on the first day, July 18, participants will start with 72 holes at Ora Golf Course in Jeju, followed by 54 holes at Booyoung Golf Course on the 19th, and then complete 72 holes again at Ora Golf Course on the 20th, challenging a total of 11 rounds and 198 holes over three days.

The competition starts at 4:30 AM with players assigned to each hole and a shotgun start simultaneously. Each round of 18 holes must be completed within 3 hours and 30 minutes, with the game expected to end around 8 PM.

During the three days of the tournament, players must continue playing without rest during daylight hours, and the tournament will proceed even in severe weather conditions.

This golf ironman tournament has been officially certified by the Korea Records Institute in the 'Longest Duration Golf Marathon Team Category' and plans to challenge the world record, drawing attention to whether a world record will be established depending on the number of participants.

To ensure smooth competition and successful record attempts, golfers with the ability to play at or below bogey level are encouraged to participate. On the green, players must hole out by putting the ball into the cup without a concession on the final play.

Meanwhile, the organizer, Jeje Band, started as a golf club based in Jeju Island and currently has 40,000 active members. With experience running ironman golf tournaments ranging from 108 to 180 holes over the past three years, Jeje Band is increasing the likelihood of success in the 198-hole world record challenge held together with the Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters.

Applications for participation will be accepted by Jeje Band from today until May 20. Participants attempting 198 holes will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, followed by those attempting 72 and 54 holes sequentially.

Those who complete 198 holes can apply to the Korea Records Institute to receive an official certificate after completing the required procedures, while those who complete 72 and 54 holes will be issued a completion certificate by the organizer.

Live coverage and recorded broadcasts of the ironman golf tournament will be provided by 'Mallo Buddy,' the largest golf YouTube channel in the Jeju region.
