Kim Tae-hee, Acting Governor of Geochang County, Inspects Large-Scale Project Sites During Thawing Season

Establishment of Management System for 77 Major Business Sites with Over 500 Million Won in the District

Kim Tae-hee, acting county governor, is inspecting major project sites during the thawing season.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has started on-site inspections of large-scale projects from the 11th to prevent safety accidents during the thawing season and to avoid administrative gaps caused by the transition to an acting authority system.

Kim Tae-hee, Acting Governor of Geochang-gun, visited major project sites related to disaster-prone areas such as Namsang Nambul and Wolpo forest risk zones, as well as projects aimed at attracting one million forest tourists, including the Susungdae Suspension Bridge construction project and the premium birch forest creation project, to check the progress of these initiatives.

Geochang-gun manages major projects worth over 500 million KRW across 17 departments and 77 locations, among which there are about 20 large-scale projects exceeding 10 billion KRW.

The World Elevator Hub City development project, requiring 23.1 billion KRW, and the Advanced General Industrial Complex development project, requiring 46.7 billion KRW, are expected to accelerate the development of the elevator industry, a key pillar of the local economy.

The 56.8 billion KRW Second Changpo Garden development project and the 15.2 billion KRW Geochang Changpo Garden Green Infrastructure project will globalize the scale of Changpo Garden, enabling the region to host international horticultural expos.

Additionally, the 15.7 billion KRW Urban Regeneration New Deal project, which will breathe new life into the old downtown area; the 56.6 billion KRW Geoyeolsanseong Access Road construction project, a core part of the north-south circulation road in Geochang-eup; and the 12 billion KRW Multipurpose Gymnasium construction project aimed at diversifying sports infrastructure, are expected to become key infrastructure leading Geochang’s future.

Kim Tae-hee, Acting Governor of Geochang-gun, stated, “The major projects we are pursuing will become the food source businesses that carry Geochang-gun’s future,” adding, “We will focus administrative efforts to ensure that all projects proceed without any setbacks.”
