[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Korea Center's overseas direct purchase platform Malltail announced on the 12th that it is expanding its influence in the direct purchase market, including fulfillment, in Asia and Europe based on its logistics centers and advanced platform.
Malltail currently operates 11 logistics centers in 8 countries. Last year, the number of overseas direct purchase cases, including fulfillment, recorded 2.54 million, a 6.7% increase compared to the previous year. Among these, China, Japan, and Europe saw increases of 461%, 21%, and 43.8%, respectively.
Last year, Malltail introduced its own X-ray equipment and state-of-the-art conveyors at its Weihai logistics center in China, which is the size of 3.5 soccer fields, and installed a systematic automation system. It also opened a logistics center in Hong Kong to strengthen its competitiveness in the Chinese direct purchase market. Recently, it obtained the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certification from Chinese customs authorities, enabling faster customs clearance through reduced inspection rates and simplified paperwork.
Malltail added Germany to its Dahejum service, which was previously available in the United States, Japan, China, and the United Kingdom. Dahejum is a purchasing agency service that allows users to buy and ship products from major overseas shopping malls in one stop with just one Malltail application (app) ID, even without knowing the local language.
A Malltail official said, "In addition to targeting the Asian and European markets last year, we launched the G2C (Global-To-Customer) business to expand direct and reverse direct purchases in partnership with global brands," adding, "This year, we plan to strengthen the G2C business and further secure logistics centers in Europe and Southeast Asia.”
