Recruiting 25 Trainees Until June 10, Free Training Until September 8
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Gyeongsang National University has been selected as the implementing institution for the "Smart IT Professional Training Project," one of the Employment Stability Preemptive Response Package Support Projects conducted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and will carry out the project until the end of this year.
This project is aimed at realizing the hopes of the residents of Gyeongnam Province by stabilizing employment in the province's crisis industries and promoting a manufacturing renaissance. It is being promoted to secure manufacturing competitiveness and expand job creation through training IT development personnel necessary for building smart factories and their employment.
Gyeongsang National University has been conducting this project for three years since 2020. The number of graduates who completed the training until last year is 40. Last year, 22 people enrolled and all completed the course, among whom 19 found employment in related fields.
Gyeongsang National University is recruiting 25 trainees from May 11 to June 10. Non-IT majors will be recruited by May 13 for preliminary basic education. Eligibility includes unemployed persons, retirees, and prospective graduates residing in Gyeongnam Province, regardless of major.
The training period is from May 23 to September 8, with education held five days a week. A total of 400 hours (490 hours for non-IT majors) of training will be provided to cultivate 25 IT programmers.
The training is completely free of charge. During the training period, a certain participation allowance is provided, and the project team offers one-on-one close support for employment activities until employment is secured.
The education program conducted by the Gyeongsang National University Smart IT Professional Training Project Team consists of basic smart factory technology, Internet of Things (IoT) and automation technology, data processing technology, IT development, and practical projects. It is equipped with the necessary technologies for building smart factories suitable for the Fourth Industrial Revolution era. In particular, separate basic IT education is provided for non-IT majors.
Professor Han Gwan-hee said, "In the program conducted last year, most of the graduates found employment at their desired companies, achieving an employment rate of 87%. Especially, non-IT majors who complete this course have the opportunity to be employed as IT developers."
