[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 11th that it was selected as an excellent institution for the health checkup project at the ‘2021 Health Checkup Project Evaluation Contest’ and received the governor’s commendation.
This is an achievement made for two consecutive years following the award for excellent institution in 2020.
The health checkup evaluation hosted by Jeonbuk Province selects excellent institutions by evaluating six items including national cancer screening and national health checkup participation rates, and support performance for detailed examinations of developmental disabilities in infants and young children.
The county encouraged health checkup participation by utilizing website postings and newspaper reports, and promoted mobile health checkups through postal mailings, phone guidance, and village chief meetings for the target population.
In addition, health checkup promotional leaflets were distributed at township offices and health centers to enable many residents to participate in the checkups.
They signed an agreement with the Population Health Welfare Association, which can provide on-site cancer screening, and made efforts to improve health checkup and cancer screening participation rates through cooperative medical examinations during mobile health checkups. As a result of efforts to promote residents’ health and reduce medical expenses through early detection and treatment of diseases, excellent results were achieved.
This year’s general health checkup targets household heads in the region, workplace subscribers, regional household members aged 20 or older and workplace dependents, and medical aid recipients aged 20 to 64 born in even-numbered years.
Those who wish to receive a health checkup should maintain a fasting state for more than 8 hours for accurate test results and visit the Imsil-gun Health Medical Center to receive the checkup.
The county health medical center is also operating a mobile healthcare room this year, providing health consultations, blood pressure and blood sugar tests, body composition tests, smoking cessation clinic operations, and Nutrition Plus room operations.
Visiting health services, rehabilitation treatment rooms, visiting rehabilitation services, mental health counseling and registered patient management, and high-risk group visiting case management are also actively underway.
To mark Health Day, the county will conduct health promotion projects and campaigns around Gwancheon-myeon on the 15th.
They plan to actively promote healthy lifestyle practices such as nutrition, alcohol moderation, physical activity, and obesity prevention, as well as smoking harm awareness, smoking cessation clinic usage guidance, oral care methods, and the use of oral care products.
A county official said, “It is important to receive health checkups on time to detect and treat diseases early, so please do not delay and make sure to get checked within this year,” adding, “We will pay special attention to health administration to make Imsil the best region to live healthily.”
