SC Jeil Bank Offers Special Interest Rates on Free Deposit Accounts for First-Time Customers

[Asia Economy Reporter Song Hwajeong] SC First Bank announced on the 11th that it will hold an event offering a special interest rate of up to 1.7% per annum (before tax) to first-time customers who open an SC First My Signature Account (hereinafter My Signature Account), which allows free deposits and withdrawals, until May 31.

The My Signature Account is a product specialized in managing surplus funds by providing high interest rates linked to free deposits and withdrawals and banking transaction performance. Since its launch in July last year, it has gained great popularity by offering stable interest rates amid a highly volatile market environment.

In this event, for each deposit transaction, if the banking transaction performance exceeds 100 million KRW from the month after the next month of the deposit month, an event interest rate of up to 1.4% will be applied to the amount deposited for more than 31 days. Additionally, first-time customers of SC First Bank will receive an extra 0.3 percentage points, resulting in a maximum interest rate of 1.7%. However, the event interest rate applies only to deposits up to 1 billion KRW for three months.

Banking transaction performance refers to the total balance at the end of the month before last of the securities (funds), trust contracts (excluding MMT and unspecified money trusts), and KRW/foreign currency deposit accounts held by the depositor at SC First Bank.

Among the eligible accounts for the event, customers with a balance of 100 million KRW or more as of the end of June 2022 will be entered into a lottery event.
