[Asia Economy Online Issue Team] Group S.E.S. member Shoo revealed her recent situation following the gambling controversy.

On the 10th, TV CHOSUN's 'Star Documentary My Way' aired a story about Shoo, who caused a stir four years ago due to habitual gambling and other issues.

On the broadcast, S.E.S. members Bada and Eugene appeared together to support Shoo. Bada first mentioned Shoo's incident, confessing, "What I thought was that during our activities, Shoo didn't have many opportunities to make decisions on her own, which might have led to this situation. I even wondered if it was because of me."

Then Bada emphasized, "S.E.S. belongs to the time when people were fans. It's a memory." Hearing this, Eugene added, "You caused a scratch there." Bada responded, "Not just a scratch, you tore it to pieces."

The members not only gave advice but also offered warm comfort to Shoo. Bada recalled the time when Shoo was contemplating an extreme choice, saying, "One day Eugene called me and said that Sooyoung (Shoo) was unreachable. When you were unreachable for 24 hours that day, Eugene and I thought a lot. We thought, if you weren't here, our memories would be gone too." She continued, "Don't think about other things now. Please consult with us from now on. Everyone makes mistakes." Shoo said, "I'm very sorry to Eugene and my sisters. I'm sorry for misjudging and causing this."

Meanwhile, Shoo was sentenced in 2019 to six months in prison with a two-year probation for habitual gambling amounting to about 790 million KRW in Macau and other places. Additionally, in 2017, she was sued for a loan repayment claim after borrowing about 400 million KRW from a Mr. Park at a casino in Las Vegas, USA, and failing to repay it. In the first trial, the court ruled in favor of the plaintiff, ordering Shoo to return approximately 346 million KRW, but Shoo appealed. While the related trial was ongoing, the case was settled through mediation in November 2020.
