[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] On the 10th, President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol nominated Park Bo-gyun, a former journalist, as the first Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the new administration.


Candidate Park has served as the political chief, editorial writer, editor-in-chief, publisher, and senior reporter at JoongAng Ilbo, and was the 18th president of the Korea Newspaper Editors Association. He has been in the media industry for nearly 40 years and has covered political scenes such as presidential, general, and local elections since 1985, producing numerous exclusive reports and highly read columns. From the 16th of last month until recently, he was appointed and active as one of the seven special advisors to the Presidential Transition Committee.
