Geumcheon-gu Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for Large General Hospital Construction with Woojeong Medical Foundation on the 9th at Siheung-dong 996 Area ... Thousands of King Cherry Trees Bloom Along Beotkkot-ro and Anyangcheon Embankment

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yuseong Hoon) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a large general hospital on the 9th at the site of 996 Siheung-dong in cooperation with the medical corporation Woojeong Medical Foundation.

The groundbreaking ceremony took place within the construction permit site, attended by about 290 residents including Geumcheon-gu Mayor Yuseong Hoon.

The general hospital will have 5 basement floors to 18 above-ground floors, a total floor area of 175,818㎡, and a total of 810 beds.

Main facilities include ▲Basement floors 1 to 5 for parking and convenience facilities ▲Floors 1 to 4 for outpatient clinics, examination rooms, and cultural spaces ▲Floors 5 to 6 for operating rooms, intensive care units, research rooms, and a sky garden ▲Floors 7 to 17 for inpatient wards ▲Floor 18 as the rooftop floor.

Geumcheon-gu Mayor Yuseong Hoon said, “The large general hospital construction project is a long-cherished wish of the residents, actively promoted to strengthen medical services in Geumcheon-gu and establish a robust social safety net. We will do our best to ensure the hospital is completed promptly through continuous cooperation with Woojeong Medical Foundation, Seoul City, and related departments.”

Cherry Blossom Trees on the Embankment Slope of Anyangcheon River

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yuseong Hoon) is witnessing full bloom of cherry blossoms along Beotkkot-ro and Anyangcheon.

Beotkkot-ro and Anyangcheon, known as cherry blossom spots in Geumcheon-gu, have also been selected as part of the ‘166 Spring Flower Roads of Seoul’.

Beotkkot-ro, stretching about 4 km (ten ri) from Geumcheon-gu Office Station to Gasan Digital Complex Station, is planted with king cherry trees, earning it the nickname ‘Cherry Blossom Ten-ri Road.’ Visitors can enjoy cherry blossoms while driving through the city.

Also, the cherry blossoms along the embankment of Anyangcheon, which connects Geumcheon-gu to Yangcheon-gu, bloom profusely on both sides of the walking path, making it ideal for exercise and strolls.

Especially this year, about 100 additional king cherry trees were planted along the walking path, allowing visitors to feel an even more vivid spring.
