Jinju as a Garden City... City Officials Receive 'Tree Management' Training, to Expand to Citizens in Second Half

Jinju as a Garden City... City Officials Receive 'Tree Management' Training, to Expand to Citizens in Second Half Providing practical tree management training for Jinju city officials.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju-si, Gyeongnam, dreaming of becoming a garden city, is expanding tree management education from city officials to citizens.

Jinju-si announced on the 8th that it conducted practical tree management training for city officials as part of a project to expand the base of civil society for development into a garden city.

Jinju-si first promoted the education targeting city officials involved in roadside, river, park green space, housing site development, and public architecture-related tasks, as well as general officials with high interest, to enhance understanding of trees that determine the city's landscape and to improve the basic management capabilities required.

Previously, Jinju-si established the "Ordinance on the Creation and Promotion of Garden Culture" at the end of last year to provide a legal basis necessary for promoting garden-related work.

This training started on the 7th and will be held eight times every Thursday from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM, about 4 hours each session, at Wolasan Supsok-ui Jinju, with 20 participants per session, until June 2nd.

The first training held on the 7th invited Professor Heo Geun-young from the Department of Landscape Architecture at Gyeongsang National University, and was conducted with understanding of the "National Garden," which has recently become a major interest in Jinju-si, and included woodworking experience.

A city official said, "Starting with this training, we plan to promote basic and advanced citizen garden academy education for general citizens from the second half of the year."

Jinju-si decided to offer various education programs such as citizen gardener training courses and garden expert training courses by identifying the demand of citizens wishing to participate in education.
