[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Starfield Goyang announced on the 8th that it has opened a 200-pyeong (approximately 660 square meters) one-stop experiential golf center where customers can shop for golf wear and equipment and try club fittings.
This is the first time a golf specialty center has been established in a complex shopping mall rather than a department store, targeting the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) who prefer young and trendy sensibilities by increasing the proportion of young golfer brands. The Malbon Golf store is about twice the size of a typical department store location, offering a wide variety of items. Paris Gates, also well known for Twice golf wear, and Master Bunny Edition, which emphasizes stylish functionality, have also opened stores here.
Through the large indoor practice facility Day Golf, a one-day golf experience is available. Day Golf is a premium screen golf course that the whole family, from adults to children, can enjoy together, equipped with large wide screens in every room. Until the 14th, customers who purchase more than 200,000 KRW at a single-brand golf store will receive a Day Golf usage voucher.
Korea's largest golf equipment specialty store, Golfzon Market, will relocate inside the Starfield golf center and reopen on the 29th with a significant expansion. Customers can compare and purchase golf clubs, golf shoes, stand bags, and various other golf products from multiple brands at reasonable prices. The store also has a fitting room where customers can try swinging golf clubs themselves and receive personalized product recommendations through consultations with professional sales staff.
A representative from Shinsegae Property said, “As the number of young people in their 20s and 30s enjoying golf has recently increased, we have newly opened a golf center reflecting the tastes of various age groups, from traditional premium to bright and lively casual styles. We planned this as an urban golf leisure space where you can enjoy not only shopping but also indoor golf in a one-stop manner, so we hope for much interest.”
